I live on the second floor of an apartment & while I don't have problems with anyone on my floor or above, I occassionally have some problems with my downstairs neighbor on my sub when I play CD's. The sub is under a 3/4" thick 2X2' heavy duty isolation pad which helps. The room is fully carpeted. Anyone have any other suggestions rather then punt to try to minimize the effects in the apartment below. I'm not into listening by headphones for CDs, nothing personal. I do use, however, an incredible Pioneer 5.1 $350 cordless headphone that works & sounds fantastic for DVDs & TV late at night, the Pioner SE-DIR8000 which somehow reproduces 5.1 sound with depth & actually sounds like your hearing speakers not headphones. Its quite comfortable & works flawlessly cordless which I never thought would be possible & in fact sometimes I have to check that my speakers are not on as it sounds like I'm listening to them with the headphones.
