It's been advertised for a while now, though I haven't heard much being said about it. Has anyone seen the new Fox TV show, where they bring 20 women or so to a chateau in France, making them believe that a millionaire owns the place. He has to choose his bride. Oh, and in reality, he makes 19K a year.

Where will fox go next? Hmm, Temptation Island 3?

This show won't be good until the end when the girls find out the truth.

I can't believe any of you are going to watch any of it. Couldn't you think of something better to do than gawp at a bunch of cheap whores being fooled for the purpose of selling YOU stupid products that you don't want or need in the commercial breaks?

I think fox is going to get sued because of that show... after all some idiot is going to be fooled.

I don't know about you, but I saw the adverts and thought "My god, I have to watch that!" Good job Fox!

Hi aeberbach, I agree. I was also going to say something to that extent last night, but I didn't feel like thread crapping.

Seriously though, is it just me or is TV getting stupider and stupider?

What could they get sued for?

Don't people sue for every possible thing in America?

Just reminds me of one Finnish guy who moved there just so he could sue a Finnish magazine for 90 million euros! He knew that the Finnish law system would have laughed his pants off. (Literaly!)

Actually I doubt that they will get sued for anything. Hidden somewhere in all of the disclosure forms etc. is a provision that allows them to do something like "Provide false information to contestants in order to advance the game." When they sign those papers, the execs tell them that that clause just means that they could, say, slip one of them a false piece of information about one of the other contestants. Just standard game stuff. In fact, they will get screwed by it.

On the US legal system, I think its problems are over exaggerated. While there have been a few ridiculous claims in the last few years, the vast majority of them are thrown out of court, often with prejudice. Personally, I'd rather have a system, at least on the corporate side, where it is a little too easy to sue a corporation than a little too hard.

The one area that does need reform is malpractice... but that is another story entirely.
