balanced tastes here : I like them both and see no reason to prefer one over the other. But this is me, my ears, my music, my gear, my listening preferences.

I cannot understand why polarization is required in this particular field but its a debate all right.

I always liked the Grado sound (the SR80 were my 1st real cans), but they never really felt right on my head (I was always fidgeting around w/them). That's why I switched to the Senn HD580 and havn't looked back. If Grado ever decided to make a headphone with a more comfortable design, I would be the 1st in line to buy a pair

thats where you may be wrong . if grado earns tons of money, challenge senn directly as a big company , they may come out better headphones with the sound signiture we desire

thats where you are wrong. Grado has just as much following here on the forums as sennheiser does. Because they dont post doesnt mean they arent here. Grado possibly has a different outlook - they are smaller in scale and they have a house sound which they like to maintain.

What you are asking for is like telling Morgan UK to make more cars like the Nissan Z because thats what you want.

Some people make what they think is nice. And Grado wont be here today if they didnt have good business.

i see , a small company with no gimmick and extra costs like ads to produce headphones of good quality at good prices . quietly complete with senn , but i feel grado has tons of potential , haven't unleash yet

Grado will grow in popularity by word of mouth, not by advertising. Thier business practices so far have been successful (in my eyes and ears

) so why change it?

Senn is also an extremely successful business so why should they change thier practices either. Two distinct companies that make high quality headphones, but are different is a good thing.

I have Grado 225s and Senn 580s. I listen to the 225s 98% of the time. But I don't sell the Senns, because there are times I want to hear them, depending on what I'm listening to.

grado and sennheiser are of equal status in headfi forum , but in asian , people tend to be skeptical with brands they are unheard of , grado is one , my friend knows i am into this hobby , ask me why i din't buy sennheiser , other guy ask me why i sell my creek to get a headsave classic and go vibe which they unheard of , when the classic and go vibe arrive at my mail box , my sister even joked that they may explode
