Anyone know what this is ?

there was a big debate about TDS's harmonic enhancers a while ago. i don't remember if it was here or at headwize. at any rate, search both forums for TDS to read up on it. it's pretty much an enigma as to what it does, and how it does it. the TDS's patents are equally enigmatic.

it's not crossfeed. it's my personal belief that it applies compression to different parts of the frequency spectrum.

Do a search on TDS Passive Audiophile. I've taken the pictures down, though.

Yep. Somebody's got one. The newer one at Audio Advisor looks like a stripped down version, though.

Thanks guys !

Hirsch, are you still using your unit ?

JMT, thanks for the link, 88Sound has a link in his ad that sort of explains it..

It's another piece of junk that messes with the signal and, ultimately, degrades the sound.

Keep it simple, keep it pure, keep it straight.

Actually, I haven't used it recently. But it's something I want to try in my speaker setup when I get the time.

PinkFloyd, in principle I agree. In practice, the TDS unit is hard to pin down. What it does is to add a pair of inductors to the signal path. There is an increase in gain, and a change in frequency response. Whether the changes to the sound are worth the extra passive component is up to the listener.
