I know they dont make wax filters for the E500/SE530, but does anyone make their own filters? Should I?

To add on to this, are filters unnessicary due to the longer nozzle?

Well, I know the E2 has filters, but why not the other E series?

Yea, no doubt.

Why does a $180 E4's have replaceable filters and $400 E530's do not yet it's basically the same nozzle design? Makes no sense.

From what I've read, the primary function of the filters is to filter out excessive highs produced by the tiny drivers to achieve a more natural balance of the highs in the overall acoustic spectrum. Ear wax clogs the filter, requiring that the filters be changed, but the filters are not primarily wax filters, but high-frequency filters. Higher end units with multiple drivers and crossovers can achieve this balance with how the drivers are used, without the use of filters. More modest units with fewer drivers use a filter.
