Right, I've got this Sony D-232 Discman from 1992/93 era from Hong Kong (I actually gave it to my sister) but have no point of reference on how it sounds against other portable CD players. Anyone care to tell me?

If it is good I might get it back off her.

What was the original RRP of this player? - Do you have any idea?

If i'm being honest, the D23x 'range' is about middle of the road for the year it was pushed out... iirc the top of the range unit was the D247... Doesn't neccesarily mean that the D232 is bad though?!

The best way to know if it is good would be to write up a comparison against some other equipment, and then post the results here... you never know, you might just spark off a new ebay fight for these things
