No problems yet, but then again I've had my first Grados (225) for only a few weeks. Hope I don't have to decide between my sideburns and a sonic bliss!

Are you serious?

I'd say "chop off your head" but you might actually do it.

What's happened to Head-Fi?

Solution to a huge head - just bend the headband back.

How old are you? My guess would be about 9. Am I close? I think you are pulling our legs with the beard thing. Are you sure it's a beard?

Well, aside from the broadsides, I'll try to answer the question intelligently, hehe.

Grattle happens when a hair manages to poke past the foam pad and get right into the driver. Buzz buzz you've got Grattle. If you have a beard, most likely you have a nice long strong thick strand of stubble sticking out perpendicular to your skin, pointing its Remington-honed tip right at your poor Grado.

Solution? As mentioned above, trim that offending beard down, if not completely off. I shan't mention names, but there was one pair of foam pads at a meet that I REALLY didn't want to put on my head. There were curly hairs all woven into that poor pad - you probably couldn't even pull them out, they were woven in like the loch ness monster taking a dip in a tar pit. Hair is a no-no, just another reason why I usually wear a hat when listening to cans. Or eating burgers. Unless the fancy restaurant makes me take off my hat.

I thought grattle (on a Grado) was caused by a damaged driver, which was caused by excessive volume with bass notes. With regards to hair intruding into the driver diaphragm itself, it would have to be a fluke because there is cloth material covering the driver cap. I can't see a human hair causing a driver to rattle. I've only been able to get a Grado diaphragm to visably vibrate at extremely high volume, a volume I would not subject my ears to.

I believe most peeps consider any Grado distortions to be "grattle". Hair "grattle" seems to be more common than driver dent "grattle" from bass notes. Often they are visible and easy to pull out. In the case of sideburns and hair in general, best to wash out the remaining cut hairs or vacuum your sideburns before using your cans. It's those little trimmed hairs that can get inside the cloth and become very hard to get out without taking the driver out.

LMAO.

Fancy a "fancy" haute-cuisine restaurant serving buggers. & to top it off, with someone wearing a hat inside, to boot. Now that is visually high drama, and takes the cake.

Beards. Anyone?

I tip my beardless hat. Err, baseball cap. And hot dawg!

PS "Waiter, wait, there is an hare on my bugger!" Voila, chicken!

i have it terrible with my Modded MS-pros, the plastic and mesh is gone so any loose hair (i have fairly long hair) has to be brushed away carefully.
