Just looking for comparisons with other amps, since I'm (sort of) trying to sell it because I feel like the pre-amp function (which is what it is primarily meant for) is a bit of a waste in my case. The more I listen, the less I feel like I'd be able to replace it for what I could sell it for.

Disclaimer...although I do have my pre listed in a different community, this is not a shameless plug, I'm genuinely trying to figure out whether selling it is worth it or not...

Thanks,
mjb

I picked a Bryston BP25P last month to replace my older Bryton .5 and Creek OBH-11SE Rev B last month.
The good and the bad I posted here http://166.90.205.111/forums/showthr...hlight=bryston
The BP25P does a stellar job with my Sennheiser HD580's but does not have enough current to really make my Grado SR325i's sing.
With the Creek OBH-11SE Rev B the Grado’s where my favorite can, they where a perfect match, but the Bryston has shifted my preferences to the HD580’s.
As I mentioned in my other tread the current draw and impedance matching are very important especially when it comes to Grado’s, even though they are more efficient they need the current and a lower impedance amp to get the best out of them.
With the Bryston the Sr325i’ have a lot less bass and the sound lacks body even though there is more than enough volume.
The Creek was a better all rounder, driving my Senn’s, Grado’s and AKG 501’s with no problem.
The Bryston’s are a better engineered product and I’ve been a loyal user for over twenty years but to get the best out of all my phones I may go searching for another head-amp now that I sold my Creek.
