Anybody willing to diagnose or recable my AKG 701s?

I had a problem with my right can, took them apart and realized the red wire had come loose. I resoldered it, bu in the process broke the two wires off from the left can to the posts leading to the right can. I resoldered those and now the right can is significantly louder than the left. I'm wondering how and why and a few head-fiers suggested I just pay a DIYer here to recable it and upgrade me while I was at it. If anyone is interested in helping me diagnose or fixing my problem for me that'd be great!

Sounds like you have a compromised solder joint in the left can. Check impedance at the jack to see if one side has a higher resistance. If the left has a higher resistance then re-soldering those connectors should help.

What kind of solder did you use?

I don't quite know how to check impedance at the jack like you said, and I didn't resolder the left can, but I guess it's possible something came half undone when I was ****ing around. The solder was Rosin Core 60/40

You are going to need either a fellow DIY'er or at least a multimeter at this point.
You can measure the "impedance" (aka resistance) with a multimeter by setting the meter on resistance, placing the black lead on the inner ring of the heaphone plug (closest to the wires), and then alternatively touching the red lead to the other two leads. Then measure directly across the two connectors to the driver elements. Theoretically, you should able to determine if the "problem" is the wiring or the elements are now damaged.
Just be careful, you shouldn't keep reheating/resoldering those fragile driver element connections, you could have already damaged them. You should be using a heat sink placed on the wire past your solder connection to protect the driver element.
