I got these sony earphones for a few months, been good for me. Im a broke school student and dont want to be purchasing a new set. I recently removed the "in ear" plastic these came with and started rocking them with foam covers, sounds alot better.

The right driver has started to produce a rattle at high volumes/bass. Any thing I can do to save em? heres some pics. In the pic i got the driver pulled from teh housing to show what Im working with.. i guess the rattle is due to something internal?

you were probably playing them a bit too loud since you started using foam covers, considering the fact that they began as in-ear phones

ok i put the rubber in-ear piece back on them, seem less noticeable.

Another hack option is to solder in a driver from my cell phone headset lol

You're better off just buying a new set, rather than degrading the driver. lol

Cup-o-noodle for a few days. You should end up with enough money for a good pair

Get some IEM's like the RE0 or Cyclone PR2.

ill see how long i can last with these though, if imma buy some new ones, i want to get some under$100 full size cans for the house.

Audio Technica M50, AD700/A700 or Senn HD555/595 would work.
