I have some albums I want to buy from Japanese Ebay (http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/), but all the buyers do not ship internationally. I bet many people on head-fi know a lot about this, since Anime and J-pop are frequently mentioned here. How do you guys get what you want from a Japanese auction site? Is there any US site for this type of purchases? Or do you guys know any Japanese auction site that does ship internationally?

Your anime avatar clearly shows you know these stuff.

Oh no, please don't associate me with all of that anime, otaku, Japanophile stuff. My avatar is from a Neo-Geo game called Last Blade, and I only browse Yahoo! Auctions Japan to look at STAX goods

YJ has nothing to do with ebay, but no matter. You need to use a deputy service of which there are a number to chose from.

A Japanese lecturer of mine once called me an otaku. Not a proud moment.

Just a side note. You might also want to be careful on what you are bidding. Three months ago I bid on the analog preamp for my HT, Sony TA-P9000ES and it arrived broken (bent vol. knob and the unit did't turn on) due to bad shipping. It was a deputy service's fault as they didn't do a good job in packaging but they decided not to do anything to help me out. In fact, I was hit with both the service fee plus a near $200 EMS shipping (I told them to ship a stardard air). They also didn't even help out with the claim and only insured my package for 10,000 yen (I asked them to insured for the full amount which was 50,000 yen). Since they were not willing to help out with the claim, I end up having to spend additonal money and repair the P9000ES amp myself. It was a very sour experience. Also, the deputy service does not have any fraud or scam protection. Bid at your own risk. So think twice before placing a bid there.

Who'd you use? That doesn't sound like the way you'd get treated by Rinkya or SMJ.

I didn't want to mention the name but it was SMJ. Of course, I had many positive experience from SMJ also, but the bad experience on that P9000ES was enough for me to think twice before I bid. You see...after all..they are just after the fees. So be very careful.

My sympathy goes out to you, purk. I'll be careful on what to bid. Any more advices or other neat deputy sites?

I still recommend SMJ and Rinkya but please pay attention to advice. Make sure to request double boxed shipping with full insurance. Of course, I did request all that but somehow my request didn't get through to them. Again, I also had many positive experience working with SMJ...but that one was bad.

I use Rinkya personally, but a number of my friends use SMJ and talk highly of them so I'm a bit surprised. I take it you did email them and make it clear what they did wrong?

Yes, I did. But they only offered me to refund the fees which was o.k. However, they want me to handle the claim process with the USPS office which isn't correct given that the shipper should be the one who handle all the claims in the first place.
