I like to listen to streaming audio, however, a lot of the time it drops out often for a couple of seconds, this occurs every couple of minutes, sometimes more often though.

I tried increasing the buffer in the playback options to 1000k but it doesnt seem to make any difference.

Surely the fact its only a 192kb stream over a 1024kb means it cant be bandwidth problems?

It is a wireless connection however, but it claims the signal strength is excellent.

So is there any settings in foobar that might help - it seems like a bigger buffer would help but changing the setting has no effect.

I've always found that any kind of streaming over wireless can get a little flakey. I've had dropouts like that even when the router and wireless adapter are 3 feet away from each other.

Hence the reason why I have (at least) 2 runs Cat5e strung to just about every room in my house, and stream audio and video to my heart's content. Foobar streams no problem, and I play flacs which theoretically would require bandwidth second only to raw wav files. No dropouts whatsoever. Go get some Cat5 and your problems will disappear....

Yeah, I had my suspicions about it I must admit.

I also use VNC quite a bit, and have noticed recently it freezes more often than it used to, often needing a reconnect.

I'll give the CAT5 a try...
