It would be nice to hear your opinions about should I upgrade from 570 to 595. Will I notice any difference when using Epox 8rda+ integrated sound card and Onkyo TX-15 amp. I've read various comments about the quality of that sound card and obviously it isn't a total piece of **** but certainly not "hifi". Phones would be mostly used to play 192 kbs-mp3s, some CDs and for gaming.

Here's some info about the motherboard and its audio system, dunno how reliable:

About the quality of the amp I can't really say anything.. found it lying useless

Yes you'll definitely notice a great difference, the 570 are pretty bad sounding, and that is when they have enough power. They are the power-hungriest cans I've ever used, and took almost 2/3 the maximum power of my Gilmore to run at a normal level. I might save a few bucks and get the 555 instead, it sounds pretty similar, especially without the greatest supporting gear. It is a very good bang for your buck headphone, this coming from someone who not much of a Sennheiser guy

A great upgrade! If you're used to the HD570 sound, the 595's will totally blow you away. Everything will sound better, clearer and more natural. (This, for a change, is an opinion of a Sennheiser freak

I've used Bose TriPorts and Sennheiser HD497s, and I just received ym HD595s today, and I am more than blown away. The sound is just SO rich compared to anything else I have ever heard, and they are much more comfortable. I am not even running these cans on an amp and I already notice a huge difference. I would go for it.

I agree with everyone above. I believe the 595s would sound better than the 570s through just about anything.
I haven't heard the 555s, but unless you are planning on upgrading everything I'd seriously consider looking at them. They're supposed to be at least 90% of the 595s at a much better price.

I cannot imagine with that source that you'd gain much from the 595s over the 555s, and the 555s can be had for much less--go with those.

Well, thanks for the opinions... I may seriously have to rethink those 555s. One positive thing about those is that I could get them for reasonable price right from my home land (Hooraay for Finland). Those 595s I would have to order from Germany in order to save 30 euros

Hei Ziukken,

Unfortunately you are now on the forum, which means you have already caught the upgraditus disease. This means that you will probably get a better sound card in the future, once you realise how good the music is from an excellent pair of cans.

Bearing this in mind, it may be better to get the 595's, rather than think about upgrading in 6 months time.

Zuikkanen, they are right about upgraditis. Visit the "computers-as-a-source" forum for an idea of just what kind of sound you can whip out of a pc. You an also check out www.hydrogenaudio.com for ideas on encoding better sounding digital files. I think you'll ditch the 192kbps CBR mp3 encoding pretty quick.

You might want to look at the chaintech AV-710 for starters. The next major step after that is the EMU 1212m, with a couple other options in there for variety's sake.

I say go with the 595s. In my personal opinion, I feel it's always better to buy more than you need now, rather than buy "ok" now, upgrade something else later, and then find out that what was "ok" is now limiting you. I'd rather shell out the cash up front the first time, than have to buy it later on anyway after already shelling out for the inferior version first.
