I'm getting ready to buy my first pair of CEIM to use mainly for commuting.  I've started to zero in on the JH audio line, since I feel like their sound signature will match up with what I prefer the best.  I have yet to see any reviews on the JH16V2 pro though and was wondering has anyone been able to hear these and could give their feedback?  If you could compare them to the Angie that would be even better!

Disclaimer: I have NOT heard the JH16V2, only the Angie.

The JH16V2 is different from the Angie; it retains the "quad low" configuration from back in the day, much like the Layla does. However, it does not have the "quad-mid" configuration from the Layla. Thus, the JH16V2 is now a 10-driver earpiece (4/2/4), in between the Angie (2/2/4) and the Layla (4/4/4).

I won't make any assertions as to how the JH16V2 will sound, but predictable differences between the 16V2 and the Angie will be the ability to turn up the bass crank to higher levels of bass with less distortion (it'll take in more voltage before it starts distorting). Mids will perform "similarly" in terms of distortion, but because low-pass crossovers are less steep than high pass filters, the 16V2 will predictably have slightly better performance in the mids --- to what extent, I don't know, it might be an inaudible improvement for all I know.

It really depends on how you want to listen: do you want to turn up the bass knob? Or, like me, do you keep it at minimum?

Thanks for the thoughts, they make a lot of sense.  I think I will like the extra bass the quad low will offer over the Angie.  I ended up placing an order just now from Moon Audio since they had the JH16V2 lower than directly from JH.  I've got my mold appointment on Thursday, it's going to be a long wait for these!
