I was wondering if there was any place that reviewed recording quality of albums as well as their content? I know www.sa-cd.net does this for SACD releases, but I haven't seen one for regular CD's. I'm just getting tired of adding more and more CD's into "car only" box.

Hi-Fi+ uses a 10 level bar graph in their music reviews for both music and sound quality ... http://hifiplus.com/music_review.html

George Graham usually makes it a point to talk about sound quality in his reviews and has long been outspoken against the heavy compression used in modern recordings ... http://georgegraham.com/

The 6moons site usually includes information about sq in their reviews ... http://6moons.com/worldmusic/worldmusic.html ... as do many of the other audiophile review sites like Audiophile Audition ... http://www.audaud.com/

Michael Fremer usually rates the sound in reviews at his Music Angle site (the successor to the old Tracking Angle magazine he edited) ... http://www.musicangle.com/

I often make mention of the sound quality in my little reviews if it's anything worth mentioning ... http://members.mailaka.net/davey/reviews.htm

Lots more, depends on the type of music you're looking for.
