So I'm new here, I'm definitely not an audiophile but after going through a pair of pretty decent headphones I understand how much of a difference they can make to your songs. I listen to mostly Hip-hop/ RnB, I would use these headphones for mostly running or the gym BUT I do like to sit around and just enjoy my music too. I've taken note of the ath-m50(I know it's a little bit more) and m30s, Sony mdr-v6, sennheiser 558 refurbished. Just want some more recommendations, I'm really looking for the best bang for my buck. Thanks in advance.

Sony MDR-V6.  It's been around since the 80's.*  Sony keeps trying to kill it, but too many recording and broadcast studios objected.

The Pearstone/Auray/Beyer velour pads upgrade is a must.  You can find the V6 for $80 or less** and the velour pads at $20-$25.

** They were about $55 on Amazon last year during Turkey-day weekend.

Right now I'm leaning towards the JVCs, does anyone have any other suggestions?

The JVC HA-S500 sound nice and makes an easier portable headphone to use compared to the MDR-V6s.
and the HA-S500 sell for under $60.
The JVC HA-S400 can sell for $30.
