I dont really know. But I was under the impression these solid state offerings are definitely going to be less expensive ... with the balanced amp going in the $1500-1600 range. These amps will also be physically smaller and easier to place. He seems to be trying to maximize all the traditional advantages of solid state.

The only question is if he can get the sound quality up to his usual standards. If he doesnt like the sound quality he wont release them. He is toying with the idea of a high quality off the shelf power supply for standard amp. People who have tight budgets could start with the standard power supply while an upgraded power supply would be available for those who want to go all out. The prototype he is sending me, from my understanding, will have a beefy elpac type power supply.

For the Solidstate design, the PSU would be seperate, for sure, but I doubt that the amp would be a Gilmore Lite size....

Actually the single ended amp will be very small. The size of the single ended electronics module will be very slightly larger than the Lite ..... like Guff theorized. The balanced amp module will be around the size of a GS-1 ... but probably slightly smaller. These amps are being designed to be very computer and desk system friendly.
