Any meets or places to demo headphones in Omaha, NE? For being such a big music city I can't find any local places to go try out some new headphones...

You could try Custom Electronics, which hosted the last meet in Omaha in 2013: http://www.head-fi.org/t/656223/omaha-ne-head-fi-meet-april-20-2013

And if you don't mind a bit of a drive, I'd recommend making the trip out to Denver for CanJam@RMAF in October: http://www.audiofest.net

I live in Omaha as well.  The number of hi-fi places is diminishing in general but there really aren't a lot of headphone places outside of big chains and NFM has a few pairs but they are hooked up Best Buy style, not hooked up to high end front-ends.

RMAF is a good suggestion.  I went a couple years in a row going back about 5-6 years now but I was not into head-fi at the time so I spent the entire time in the main area with the loudspeaker based systems.  If I went again I would probably split time between the two.

I'd be down for a meet but don't have the time to dedicate to planning one.

Don't forget that Sound Environment has Audeze, NAD, Oppo (working on getting demo headphones with Todd and Doug), among other items like McIntosh, Arcam, and other DACs and amps.

I am working on putting together a mini-meetup at my house like I do each spring and we can talk about organizing a full meet.  I'm friends with Larry and Tim at Custom Electronics, and Larry is happy to have a group of 15 or so in on Saturday.

For anyone interested, most of us Omaha Headfiers stay in contact on FB to keep it easier on those of who avoid the dreaded and highly contagious Headfi Upgrade-itis.  Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/441168172638819/

I have a ton of gear, but I'm in the process of "thinning the heard" so feel free to contact me (through PM) if you want to demo anything before it goes.   Or if you have any questions about Custom Electronics or Sound Environment.... or if you just want to talk about headphones (or whisk(e)y
