This looks absolutely superb. Astell & Kern sub brand, streams Tidal MQA and $299 on US Amazon as I write.
I think it has to be imported from China though, so probably import costs.
All the same......

Just got one today. Drives Utopia beautifully. Have been using DLNA for the whole day and works great. The device is very light, about the size of my palm, like half of my Sony cellphone, same width but half height. It is made of plastic but a joy to hold on. No sharp edges. The UI is very fluent, responsive. The screen is a joy to see, color is not as vibrant as Kann but very detail and bright. The sound quality is very good, comparable to Kann. Sorry, I am not very good in describing the sound but from my non-critical listening: The bass is deep, not as tight as Kann. The treble is detail and no roll off. Sound stage is comparable to Kann. The package is simple: a paper box containing a plastic bag with the device itself in a fake fawn skin bag along with a stack of paper and wires. That's it. I purchase it for exercise but the sound quality is a surprise to me and made me want to use it for all my listening for the day. Unlike Kann, which is a beast in weight, Activo disappears in my pocket and I completely forgot its existence other than the music flowing through my brain.

Tried Andromeda today and like the sound! The bass on Andromeda is awesome. To my surprise, Activo does not hiss with Andromeda! I have to up the volume to 30 in order to listen to it. Unlike my Opus, I have to use volume 1 or 2 to listen to Andromeda. However, with Focal Utopia, I only use volume 90. Anyway, good little DAP for on the go listen.
