Any love for the Activo CT10?

Just got my today. Updated the firmware. It can't see ANY. cue file. Just see and play flac as one big file.

On the album menu, select CUE. I don't have any cue files loaded on here, but they would appear here.

Really?) it's the only way to see .cue? I use "folder" navigation only. And I think I don't have to remember, which albums are in cue format and which are not. I just open the nessesery folder and play it. After all, my old Sansa Clip Zip with RockBox is easier to use)

Also when I choose any folder and play it, I can't go back to that folder from play menu. I have to go to the "folder" menu again and search for the folder I am listening now.
And also when the last file in the folder is over, it does not go to the next folder.
...
Actually, my first impressions of Activo are positive. I just mention things that are really strange for me.

To further convolute my small/cheap DAP situation, I ordered one of these on Friday with same day delivery from Amazon. Now, I just got my Kickstarter Hidizs AP80 just over a week ago which was my first DAP (well, at least since my Rhapsody and Toshiba Gigabeat days) and just before I got that, I bought two HiBy R3s during the Black Friday sale - one for me and the other for my husband as a Christmas gift. I was going to give the AP80 away as a gift but decided against it based on some of the issues other backers reported. I bought the R3 with the thought that it would be my main daily DAP and I was willing to give Tidal a try as my high-quality service (but I'm not giving up Google Play Music because I'm grandfathered in @ $7.99, ad-free YouTube is great, I like having my own music collection blended in, and I'm constantly surprised by how robust their catalog is). It didn't take me long to realize offline Tidal would be a little more useful in a device intended to be a replacement for my phone as my music player. I considered getting the Fiio M9 but somehow stumbled across the CT10 and what really sold me was the open app service supporting Pandora and Tune In as listening to podcasts is something I do a lot and the shows I listen to are in those services. So I decided to try it to compare against the R3. The R3 has a better screen and better overall design in my opinion, but with the equipment I have (BGVP DMG, DUNU DN-2000J, Hifiman HE-400i), I don't detect enough of a difference in sound quality for that to be the deciding factor. I will miss the balanced out on the R3 but I think it's the one I'm returning. I'm pretty happy with the CT10 as it does everything the R3 does and more. My biggest complaint is the lower quality screen and battery life that doesn't quite live up to my hopes and dreams. But since it's the device that can pretty much take over daily audio tasks from my Note8, it's the more valuable tool to have in my collection right now. Someday when I buy more power-hungry headphones I'll probably need to upgrade but my wallet is here to remind me that day needs to be a long way away.

Does the activo CT 10 have remote controle through phone via bluetooth? Like the HiBy app?
Or is there a possibility to install HiBy app on it?

It's kinda important for me to have the remote function. I find it very practical. There's no need for bluetooth headphone then.

How is the MQA situation now? Can it read it gapless and without overheating? Is that really an issue?

Can it output usb to coaxial (stack with mojo) ?

@JasonNYC Is it shipping to Europe any time soon?

(by the way, it is very nice to see someone from activo's team so present on the thread!)

(and much thanks to anyone answering any or all this questions :) )

We currently do not have a Bluetooth remote app, but you can use the Astell&Kern AK Connect 2.0 app which connects via Wi-Fi for remote control or any other DLNA remote app available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store since the CT10 has full DLNA protocol support.

No issues with MQA playback on the CT10. Users may experience some warmth from the player, especially during burn-in period, but it is not an issue. After burn-in, this will disappear.

The CT10 supports USB Digital output. It can be connected to a Mojo via USB.

There is currently no ETA on if or when the ACTIVO CT10 may be available in Europe.

Too bad. That's almost the perfect DAP. There is no work around that I guess, even through the app store? (last bits of hope). DLNA is good, but I would mostly use the remote control on the go.

I actually found it in Switzerland but 50chf more than JP or US, if only we had the sega design :D By the way, the activo's presentation clip is great! :)

Hey but following the tutorial to install open app: https://us.astellnkern.com/blogs/news/open-app-service-instructions
Hibby app (with bluetooth control) is suppose to work right?
Astell and Kern own app is probably better for everything else but if only it had bluetooth control.

Is there someone who could try? :D
The HiBy app is not supported at this time and cannot be installed on the player via Open App service. Only the apps specifically listed as supported on the page can be installed at this time.

That's astounding, given the power specs on this player. I wouldn't expect it to drive the HE-4XX well at all. What is the max volume on the CT10 and what level are you using with the HE-4XX?

I'm strongly considering this but wish it had about twice the power at least.
Max volume of the CT10 is 150 and I'm driving the HE-4XX's at between 130 and 145 depending on the source. DSD's require closer to max, but on a 24/44.1 new album I'm able to drive them comfortably at that 130-135 level. And I do like my cans to be loud. It's roughly the same for my HD650.

The ONE thing that is frustrating me right now about the device is the lack of sorting options when viewing my library. I was kind of surprised to see that I cannot, for instance, tell it to organize the album view by "Album Artist." It's alphabetical which I don't particularly like. And when viewing in "Artist" mode, they only give you one option which is full track-listing for every album instead of a nice grid-view of the Artist's albums. Each view just has a predetermined view and I'm not really in-love with that. But I feel like that's an easy software fix so REALLY hoping that is on the roadmap for addition. Viewing a large library absolutely requires some customization of how one views the albums and artists.

Also, .cue files work fine on mine.
