Since the CT10 runs a customized version of Android and Mac OS does not provide native support for Android devices connected to Macs, you need to use a third party file manager in order to transfer to/from the CT10. There are a few options, including the free Android File Transfer from Google - https://www.android.com/filetransfer/ or one of our favorites here is Commander One Pro, which is a more robust program. It is available for a small fee from the Mac App Store.

That program randomly and regularly crashes when I try and move files to my CT10. It's making it unworkable. My CT10 also arrived with light leaks around the seams, poor build on the corners and poorly aligned charging port mount so it's being returned. I wasn't going to say anything but, Activo support have been particularly poor- they told me ALACs are supported but not .m4a file extensions. Seeing as though .m4a is the file extension for ALAC, that's not a good start. As to the build quality issues- they just said speak to the retailer. I really don't like it when companies fob you off to the retailer- really bad attitude. Sorry but, the CT10 that arrived to me barely shows the build quality of a £50 device, if that.
Real pity because what little I've listened to- it sounds great.

@tezla7 Received your message. Thank you.

Just to confirm, the CT10 definitely does support ALAC and m4a files. These files I ripped from CD in iTunes using ALAC play without issue. Unfortunately, AFT or a similar file management program is needed since Apple refuses to natively support Android devices as they compete with Apple products. Any non-Apple OS - Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, the CT10 and any Android-based devices show as removable drives and can have files dragged and dropped to without the need to install any additional software.

Do you have a slight leak around the left of the screen when dark? The side where the buttons are?

Support unfortunately should indeed come from the retailer. This is part of law for resolutions to any issues annoyingly. I have always had a good response from AK/ACTIVO for any queries I have had, I'm sorry that your experience hasn't been like that as it will probably have put a sour taste in your mouth. I really hope you get it sorted as the ACTIVO sounds so good and it has a great feature set.

    Regards

    Phil

I bought it 3 months ago and quite happy with it. It will be almost perfect if it had TIDAL offline mode, something i really miss. Any plans?

It HAS got Tidal offline, I was using it today.... you just need to download the tidal app, rather than using the baked in version

Yeah pop the TIDAL.apk file in the Services folder on the player and install the standard app to the decide. It will also store offline to the external card.

Hi Phil, light leak at 4 points on the front left side of the unit between the black and white plastic and light leak on the bottom seam front. I don't know who emailed me in response but I think the wrong person answered the email that day at ACTIVO North American Customer Service Center. Whoever emailed me, clearly gave me the wrong information:

"Based on your description and photo references, files that are creating error message are proprietary music files: .m4a and it is not one of the supported file types. These files can either be converted, or we do kindly ask them to be removed. Meanwhile, please do report if .FLAC and .ALAC file types do create similar issues during transfer. "

and whoever followed up on those same emails didn't inspire any confidence.

Thanks for your message @JasonNYC . From what little I've listened to the Activo- it sounds great. I think I have received one with defects that's all, and- I have personally found the Android/Apple transfer program to be particularly unstable. It's crashed three times copying no more than 30 albums, and it has usually crashed copying .m4a files, which to my mind- doesn't conclude anything. .m4a files play perfectly on the device and I don't for a second want to put people off buying a unit. I was personally just a bit irritated by the comment that if you just "install androidfiletransfer program to your Mac all will be well." and I was only irritated because that was not true for me. As per Jason's recommendation- apparently a better alternative is is Commander One Pro.
