Jazpresso,
How could there be an OBH 21 SE (Special Edition) if a standard OBH 21 model has never been made avaliable in the first place???

JMT,
Hmmmmmmmmmm,
Do you perchance think this good looking baby might have better quality capacitors under the hood?

Well,at CES Mike Creek was pretty wasted when I tried to talk to him so I wasn't able to get much useful info.Roy Hall was knocked over too but at least he can hold his sauce and was able to tell me that the new amp is basically a substantial update from the OBH-11SE.It is in a slimmer, longer case with the silver faceplate. He says the basic circuit has changed a bit and there seems to be an additional set of inputs.I think I took a pic of the rear of the unit.I will try to find and post it.

Of course, they can do that whenever they want. That would imply the existence of a regular version though. I wonder if such standard OBH 21 also exists and if it has only one headphone jack. Could these new models be just the same as the old ones except for the brushed aluminum faceplate? Is this just a marketing gimmick of repackaging an old product? Have they really changed anything inside that amp? I wonder cuz other than the metal faceplate it seems absolutely identical to the OBH 11 SE.

A longer case... does that mean the power supply is now inside the unit?

The power supply is still a remote unit.I saw it connected to the OBH-2 power supply. The new amp shares no physical dimensions with the old OBH-11SE.It looks very different and I suspect that, as Roy Hall stated, the amps are very different internally as well.

Now I'm confused. Based on the photo posted by JMT I perceive it to have identical faceplate size. Volume knob, and headphone jacks seem also identical in both size and location on the faceplate. It looks like a better looking OBH 11 SE, at least on that pic. I take it that you mean it's depth, or length if you will, has got to be deeper/longer, as you said in an earlier post that this amp is in a slimmer/longer case. This is not apparent in JMT's front panel only pic. Other photographs would be very illuminating and greatly appreciated. If there is an additional set of inputs then I suppose the sources must be selectable from the back panel as the front panel lacks a source selection knob.

Well I'm wondering about the price of this new OBH 21 SE amp. It will certainly cost more than the OBH 11 SE of course, but will it cost as much as a Sugden Headmaster? My guess is that it could be somewhere in between the price of the OBH 11 SE and the price of the Headmaster, maybe around the 500 dollar range... (in the US).

Folks,

I've just posted a thread titled "Info on Creek OBH-21 and OBH-21 SE amps" with fresh data from Creekaudio's website. Here's the link:

http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...205#post290205

Please add any additional information you may have. New pics or a review of the new amps would be most exciting.

Cheers,
