Today as usual i took them for listening and found out that inner foam membrane that sits between the ear and drivers are worn out. I was little worried because everything regards to this is very expensive and locally not available. Any idea on how to fix it...? Can i use similar material instead of it?

If i use it as it is, will it damage the drivers...? The last thing i want is to find a new pair of drivers for my HD6xx.

it's literally foam bro....
google audio foam and hit shopping, then layer the worn ones and cut, replace both sides with the same foam
or call Sennheiser if you need oem foam

Thanks for the reply. I carefully removed those ear pads and realized it is easy to replace them if I can find the same material. Nope! calling Sennheiser will be a big nope from where I live...! Audio foam it is...! :) Thanks bro! I really appreciate the reply.

If you want to experiment, you can try other material: it can / will make the 6XX sound clearer.......photographs of my HD-60057A1FFF4-1B43-4213-893E-8E89CE851D6F.jpegFF13F559-3D4B-4B0F-8DB9-D6C41A069B7C.jpeg

Google the curtain mod for the 6xx.

Thanks,

I have no choice but to use hd6xx own packaging for now to avoid damaging what's inside. Its thicker but there is no way to go out looking for foam during covid lock down.IMG20210506102040.jpg

I don't know if its healthy for the drivers.
Nice bro! Though, if it didn't work out, you can purchase online so you would not worry about getting COVID.

That could potentially have a negative effect to the sound with that foam. Looks to be a thicker/denser material.

I don't know where you are but the part number for it is 586410 I believe. When I checked on Sennheiser's website though, it didn't seem to appear and the foam was only available bundled with new replacement earpads.
But Thomann sells the foam only : https://www.thomann.de/fr/sennheiser_hd600_650_foam_net_pad.htm
Perhaps this could be an interesting alternative to other propositions you've received so far.
Easiest is to get the ebay stuff, I live in Sri Lanka, yep completely nowhere :)
