I'm kind of curious. I can't really tell a difference myself, but I thought they had planned on 24-bit support in the future and new hardware might make that a possibility.
Any idea what DAC is in the new (2012) iPad?

Yet again I found the answer to my own question minutes after posting. It looks like the DAC is the same as the iPhone 4S, for anyone that's wondering.

Yeah iFixit found the same chip in both products.
I also have iphone 3gs and touch 3rd gen besides the new ipad. Does anyone know which dac chip is better spec wise?
