On a strictly amp basis, is there an iBasso amp that sounds better or gives more power than the iBasso D10? Or, are all of iBasso's amps about the same as the D10?

iBasso

The P3+ swings more voltage and sounds very good. It has an Alps pot and other quality parts.

What's an Alps pot? Pardon my ignorance...

It is a brand from Japan that is very well made. It is the volume attenuator.

yeah the P3+ or OEM are superior. the OEM was put together with aid from this very forum; taking our wishes and concerns into consideration

Where in the world is info on the OEM? I've heard about it a few times but I've never seen pictures or specs, and it's not on the iBasso site.

The fi.Q OEM will not be sold by iBasso but will be produced by them. I have two sitting here and the amp is powerful and can handle 4 buffers per channel, giving it quite a bit of power, with an excellent voltage swing since it operates at over 20 volts. You can roll (change) buffers, opamps and grounding circuit. It can run from just batteries (12 AAA), or external power supply of 23 volts. The parts are top quality from caps, resistors to selected Alps pots (over half thrown out to achieve an excellent R and L balance).

There was a sign up list for it and the first run sold out but there will be another run in the near future. The amp will drive anything that uses a standard headphone amplifier. The sound is excellent with a very large stage, solid deep bass and clean smooth highs. And again, you can change out opamps to what you desire as long as they are of the correct voltage range.

It will be about the size of the iBasso D1. It will be a larger portable but capable of driving phones like a home amp would with very high quality sound rivaling amps costing 1000 dollars and more.

Pot meaning potentiometer. I think.

You know, if you don't already know.

(I just figured it out today. It was awesome.)

The P3+ takes 6 AAA batteries (no planes will be flying over that). That's a total of 9V, or enough to light the sky above Normandy. The D10 runs on a LiPol battery, which I don't know the specs of. Something on the order of 2V or 4V, which probably can't even take down a Ju 87.

I don't know about output power, however. You'd have to ask iBasso for the spec sheet. I know my D2 does 150mW @ 32 ohms.
