Live in Canada, gonna be in China for a bit. Wondering if anyone knows shops that lets you audition a wide selection of headphones. Would be especially amazing if they have custom IEMs but I will settle for great selection of just plain headphones.

For tubes and amps:

Prices in Hong Kong for most headphones are usually more expensive with the exception of Audio Technica. However, amps here are relatively cheaper here than overseas. Tube amps especially are very popular. The best headphones you can buy there are sony and audio technica, very good price. you won't find any grado there (my own experience), akg is more expensive there, sennheiser is more or less same price with States. I don't think they have custom IEM there.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but this was really helpful when I visited HK recently and I just wanted to thank you guys and make some suggestions as well! Mingo's was great and they have a good selection and is great for trying out gear! I wen to both their Mong Kok stores and they were really helpful. Just check out the website for location details!

I also wanted to add Michael's Audio to the list. Also in Mong Kok on Nelson Street right off the subway exit E2. It's a little underground community with some really good prices on everything from wires to amps to headphones to tubes to music! Look it up on Google and check it out. The opening to the area is relatively small between two shoe stores so it's hard to miss. But it's definitely worth checking out. It has been one of my favorite places to go for audio now!
