hi there...more and more i'm portable and like to stream my music vs buying the actual cd or dvd.
I am also shortly to get an tablet and would like to enjoy a concert dvd
when and wherever i wish ie the latest Rush R40 dvd that is being released today.
 
are there any good quality online vendors out there offering such, for american and cdn customers?

Try Qello. It's $5 a month but I think you can get a free trial to see how you like it. I just checked and they don't have R40, although they do have a decent amount of other Rush material and are constantly adding new stuff.
