[Pangaea]

I got a pair of the K26P which seem to have mixed reviews around here. I like them so far, if nothing else for the size. Plus they give pretty good isolation and sound is decent. But could obviously be improved. It seems like if you got the foam cover off the drivers it may open them up a bit. I am not sure if the pleather donuts can come off or not. Anyone have any luck doing an easy mod with this phone?

There's no foam, only fabric-so you can't do anything here. Search for k26p mod threads, there was some mods... But, tttt, they're all sub par so don't bother.

The best mod I can think of for the AKG K26P is to wear them so that they don't seal perfectly over your ears. I have found that when they get a good seal the bass becomes overly strong and boomy- but by breaking the seal just a little bit- wearing them either just off the back of my ears or off the front, and they start to sound really nice, especially for the price.

Give that a try.

You can also take away the original pads and put on some from portapro or ksc75. it will take away alot of that overpowering bass.
