HI
I read some article on the net that says that windows media player can bypass the windows Kmixer with the ReClock DirectShow Filter.
anyone tried it and can comment on the stability and quality of this?

I am currently using foobar with asio4all plugin, but having some popping noises problems with it and would like to try this ReClock DirectShow Filter as a subtitude to the asio plugin.

there's also an ASIO plugin for WMP(and possibly WASAPI?): asio wmp - Google Search

but the Reclock "trick" might come in handy to get bit-perfect KS/WASAPI in Itunes for instance

thanks for the link. I currently having problems with the asio plugin, so i will try the reclock to see if that will work better.
with foobar and asio, i get popping noise every time i change track or push the start/stop buttons...and that's because the asio plugin reloading itself every time i do something. it also happens with winamp so i don't think it will worked out itself with wmp.
I will try the direct kernel streaming and hope that work better. I couldn't get the kernel streaming to work with foobar nor winamp, so i guess this is my last resource.
thanks again!

so set the Reclock prebuffer to 0ms(instead of 500 default)

thanks, I only hope that i can handle all the other settings in there. I really don't understand nothing in this. just want to enjoy my music that's all.

I just installed the ReClock DirectShow Filter and i can't change the prebuffer set to 0... what value should i set it for?

can you advise about the other settings as well?
and how do i make the windows media player to work with it? (didn't find any output settings in wmp)

thanks.

I've never used WMP, but if it won't let you choose the audio renderer, you can still set Reclock as the default windows renderer...or check "force Reclock to be loaded..." in Reclock

set Reclock to KS or WASAPI, the prebuffer to 0ms(instead of 500ms)...and you should be all set

oops...well 25 then? I only use Reclock for video reclocking.

anyway, did you try KS in foobar? if your ASIO drivers are wonky, KS should still work fine

if you're on Vista, maybe there's some WASAPI plugin too

I tried ks with foobar, but it doesn't work with my usb dac, only with the computer's soundcard. when i choose the KS:USB DAC from the device list and than try to play some music, it doesn't play it. the same with winamp...only that with winamp it is worse because it crashes.
