The depth of the DT150 pads is 25 mm.
Ther other dimensions are 80 by 45 mm.

Just the man I needed!

Tell me, what is the difference in depth between
DT150 stock pads and DT100 velour pads?

I'm asking this because measuring earpads accurately
is difficult and I'm not sure if my measurements can be compared directly to yours.

That size, 80 x 45 mm, is it taken at the deep inside level,
and not on the surface?

I'm sorry, but I sold the velour pads, so I don't have them anymore. Can't compare.
I measured the depth of the DT150 pads from the place where they touch your ear to the felt, which covers the drivers.
The 80 x 45 mm is taken from the inside up above. One site to the other, not taken the surface of the pads.
Hopes this makes sence....

Thanks again, that's been very kind of you.

Looks like I'm getting DT150 for Christmas :)

I've seen pictures and they are really big on the outside,

more than DT770.

But how's the inside space on A500/A700/A900???

They're large on the outside, but I'm finding the stock pads on the A900 to get uncomfortable real quick. Measured my ear and it's around 68mm tall. Seems to squeeze the end of my earlobe. Maybe clamp pressure is a bit too strong, but they feel loose-ish. There just doesn't seem to be enough depth on these pads or I need to look at reducing clamping. Ear depth is 20mm.

Wish there was slightly softer and deeper pads for these.

Those DT150 things look enormous!

Would it be possible for you to measure
inside dimensions of A900 earpads?

It was a hi-tech job :)

I put my ear on the scanner and scanned it.
It was easy to get dimensions in pixels and convert to mm.

But for ear depth I had to ask my neighbour for help.
He used a digital caliper to measure ear depth and
also confirmed dimensions taken out of the scan.

A900 pleather plads are 62mm x 49mm x 14mm. That explains the discomfort. There has to be some better pads for the A900.

I can't even see at my ear from front look through mirror.

I have clip-ons.

I just used my fingers for a rough guess. Just feel with forefinger and thumb and use a ruler to measure the gap between fingers.

Wouldn't it be cool to have pads made of memory foam? I need to get the clarino leather pads, then I can take a look at chopping up the stock pads to see how it is glued or stitched.

... I could ofcourse just cut my earlobes off with a bread knife. Be right back.... aaaarrghhh...

Thank you very much for taking the measurements.

Height is really plentiful at 75 mm, and width of 35 mm might be tolerable,
but depth of 17 mm is likely to induce substantial pressure
and pain after prolonged use (24 h or more).

Just happy to be able to help out.
Seems like the height and width should be ok then, but about 17mm may be too shallow. Too bad.

Best of luck hunting down the perfect pair.
