Hey guys, I have a problem and I'm wondering if anybody here is able to help or provide input. I sweat a lot under my arms

I used to use over the counter antiperspirants such as Mitchum Smart Solid.

Unfortunately, they never did a very good job at controlling perspiration, which was my biggest issue. I would still get pit stains very quickly, even if not doing anything remotely stressful.

I finally went to the doctor and got a prescription for what is basically a liquid solution of Aluminum Chloride. It is called Hypercare.

I apply this under my arms with a cotton ball before bed every 2 or 3 nights and it works extremely well for controlling perspiration. I no longer get any pit stains, even with very stressful activity.

However, now I have another problem. I now get pretty bad BO under my arms.

My question: Is there any way to control perspiration as well as I can with this Hypercare stuff and at the same time significantly reduce or eliminate the BO?? Surely I can't be the only one who experiences this...

Well, can you use Hypercare as well as an over the counter product in combination? Check with your doctor about possible chemical reactions or side effects.

This may sound odd, but are you sure it's you that the BO is coming from? When I used to work in a lab, I was pretty constantly getting excessively sweaty (rubbish air con and lab coats are not a good mix). I found that after a while of this sort of treatment, some of my t-shirts and things now have(had) a smell that didn't come out even with washing, but was only noticeable when the shirt got warm in use.

Not nice. You could try a brand-new t-shirt or two, and see what effect that might have...

The only thing I can think of is to mask the scent, but that could easily do more harm than good.

I sweat like a pig too...and work outside. Working on a sheet metal or asphalt roof, the temp. can reach deadly levels with the heat index figured. IMO, "BO" is natural, not much you can do about it but shower more frequently.

Mitchum is the best over the counter .......so you may need a prescription product, or have them stop your sweat production under your arms etc.
They either have pills for that or an electric procedure that shuts your sweat down for a few weeks at a time.
Ask your doctor.

Not familiar with any of the products, but logically speaking you can get powders to assist. You could also shave your arm pits.
Anything with aluminium dioxide in it will supress perspiration (much like antiperspirant deoderant) and the better the surface area of contact the better.
A word of warning, aluminium has been linked alzheimers
I used to sweat a lot, but it suddenly stopped.

Try Sure Max. I've never used anything better - it stops sweat completely and there's no BO. Also, I stopped sweating quite a bit after going on a serious diet last June. I've dropped about 90 lbs. so far (a little under 160 now, and will take it down to 145-150 lbs.) and sweating, among other things, drastically changed. I'm not saying that you need to do the same, but consider some lifestyle changes if you need to.

Truthfully, I have the same problem as you.

I use Dri-Fast, which is prescribed. Dab it on at night, wake up in the morning, and it's recommended that you shower. Now, after you shower, you MUST put on deoderant/antiperspirant combo, or I say just deoderant since if you use antiperspirant you're really clogging up the skin, and not letting it breath. Use Gel-based deoderants, they take alot longer to dry, but they are alot stronger. Worst comes to worse, carry a bottle of deoderant spray with u whenever you smell, or try showering at lunch at school.

I used to have issues with regular deodorants and wanted a solution that was aluminium free. A friend recommended this product to me and it has been fantastic. Doesn't stop sweating but it stops BO absolutely. No scent

Body Crystal

It's an Australian product but there may be something similar in your market or you might order it on-line. The crystal stick would easily last a year.

They do have them in the US - you can find them at Whole Foods and other natural food/health stores.

I see no reason why you shouldn't combine the HyperCare with a regular deodorant. Not an antiperspirant/deodorant, but a deodorant only (as the anti-perspirant role is served by the HyperCare).

Disclaimer: I am not your physician, and this is not medical advice.

I used to sweat profusely in my underarms. I always used antiperspirant/deodorant. I would sweat out the best OTC you could buy. I switched to deodorant only and funny enough my underarms barely sweat anymore.
