I'm looking to buy a set of IEMs (obviously) and have come up with these models:

Klipsch Custom-1
Denon AH-C452K
V-Moda Vibe
V-MODA Vibe Duo
Shure SE110
Digital Designs DXB-01

I am a basshead, but I am looking for 'phones that can do more than vibrate.

I am a n00b to this, so any and all help is appreciated. I did read [FYI] Basic Guide to In-Ear-Canalphones, and it gave me some good information, but it even said Quote:

When it comes to picking up a pair of headphone, your ears are much more trust worthy than your eyes.

This list is far from the absolute end all of IEMs, so if you have any suggestions, my price absolute maximum price is $75. Thanks for reading!

TL;DR
I have a list
I'm a basshead
I'm a noob, so suggestions are welcome ($75 max)

Bass head = NE7M, probably your best choice for a whopping price of $50.

LOL! I know what you mean, or maybe smoke one while listening too.

Just for clarification, the NE7Ms is it a boomy bass, or is it tight? I have used a couple sets of IEMs (though they were cheap) that either had very little low end response, and others where it had a booming low end, but it was (and I'm not 100% sure these are the correct terms) loose feeling/sloppy.

In Late Nite Tip, how well done are the bass kicks? The set I'm currently using can play it reasonably loud, but the kicks are virtually nonexistent.

Any other suggestions?

Well, I use my ne-7m's with comply tips and a fiio e5 amp (not many will recommend the amp) and it is everything I want it to be... as far as using the proper lingo to describe how it sounds, you'll have to wait for someone that knows their terminology. I think you will be very pleased with these though, however I really disliked the stock tips, which is why I recommended the comply t400 tips.

Another vote for NE-7M and I don't think they are boomy at all (I come from Bose IE's which have tons of bass and are definitely BOOMY) NE-7M is way tighter but only about 3/4 the bass of Bose, which is better IMO because the Bose have to much bass. They also have very nice mids and great highs for $50 they are better than anything listed in my profile.

BTW I am using mine with Comply T400 tips for added comfort and slightly better isolation. I know several users also like them alot with Shure SE210 silicone tips, so if you don't have any specialty tips and don't want to have to buy new Comply's all the time you might want to look in to the Shures, or simply try the stock tips and you may find they are all you need...

I will have to try mine with my Fiio e5 just to see what it's like. I don't like the extra stuff to carry around but it will be fun to try it out and if I like it I'll keep it near my computer at home for added listening pleasure.

I tried the E5 and did not notice much difference? I think it may be because I am using a 2nd Gen Ipod Touch which has more power over older Ipod's combined with the fact that I don't have the special cable that goes from the dock connector so I am just using the earphone port with the volume on the Ipod set to 50%. I did notice a small change though and it was quite big if I turned on the bass boost. With bass boost the bass was almost as big as the Bose (I'm thinking about 85-90%) and only ever so slightly bloated with all of the other wonderfull mids and highs, while I would not set this on all the time there are certain types of music that sound great with the added bass. Otherwise when set normally the change I noticed was a smidge bigger sound stage and I think almost a little bit looser sound (I wasn't happy with the looseness though as I like the tighter sound of the phones by themselves).

Will I use the Fiio? Probably on occasion but not to often as I just don't want to carry the extra gear.

The E3's are a very poor match for the Nuforce NE-7M's. They are not entirely compatible as far as the jack goes due to the microphone and it completely distorts the sound unless you only put it in a little bit.

Are the E5s a better match?
