Hi ppl,

I've been monitoring this site for a long time now but had never registered cause I felt I got all the advice that I needed from just reading the forums.I know it's not so social but I'm not great at this sort of thing.

My question is.I've been using my Sony MDR-EX90's for a long time now.I read a rewiew on this site at the time and decided to buy them, and I've never looked back, but now it's time to move on.

Yesterday I was able to try the Shure E210 and I have to say I wasn't impressed at all.I have to admit that the 90's sounded better with my Sony HD player than with my Creative Vision M but I tried the Shure's with the ZVM and it wasn't what I expected.Basically all I'm looking for is the clarity and the smooth bass I got from the 90's but with a bit more power.Hope you guys can give me some suggestions.

Thanks Vinny

Sorry i forgot to include that.I was looking in the region of around 150 euro's.That's what the E210 cost so somewhere there.

I never heard the Sony's (yeah - I know, not a great help but), The Ultimate Ears (UE) Super.Fi 5 Pro's are within your budget and pretty nice! Also, the Denon C700's seem to be well-loved here. Just my $.02

If you can get them (online), the Future Sonics Atrio M5s and M8s will provide the "clarity and the smooth bass" that you're looking for. Not as readily available as the super.fi's, but a very satisfying IEM. No amp or EQ'ing required.

PS: The Yuins were an interesting suggestion, if you don't require isolation.

I like what I'm reading about the SF 5 Pros but are they as fragile as some reviewers say?.They state that the phones break easily and the cord is pretty weak aswell ?.

Damn it.Now I've been reading up on the Denon's and the Future Sonics Atrio M5's and they all seem to be better than Shure.I'm already in a mess trying to decide which one would be best for me and that's only after a couple of suggestions.

that was with the older version afaik!

The cord/headphones have since been changed and are fine now. Though some one else might need to confirm this :)

Confirmed! Both of my super.fi 5 headphones are fine after six months of abuse.

I think the 5 Pro's will suit your needs, however there are good custom alternatives now such as the livewires and Freq's that you might want to look into.

Unbelievable.I checked out the shop where I bought my last phones and they were asking for 300 euros for the Super 5's but buying directly from UE is only 170 euros.

Well after reading countless reviews all day I've decided to buy the Super 5's(already ordered),but I've got one more question. Is it recommended to burn these in with pink noise or do they come already burnt ?.
