Sorry for another repetative thread, but after reading and reading and searching, I still cannot find anything.

- $150 Budget.
- I listen to metal/death metal.
- I had Shure E2C's.. these are canal phones, correct? Either way they were uncomforatble and I would like to stay way from similar designs. If its any help, I had some Smokin' Ear Buds from Skullcandy and they were pretty comfy.
- In order of priority
1. Comfort.
2. Isolation.
3. Bass you can feel.

Thanks guys,

Jason

Well, based off the first 2, I'd say go with UM1's and as for the last one, I think I speak for most about there not being any IEM's that have bass you can feel. You have the bass but not hardcore like full sized cans.

I second the um1s, its very comfortable with the short complys but they do not provide as much isolation as the long complys but I find the long complys uncomfortable, it really goes quite deep into your ear canal.

IEMs and canal phones don't push air like headphones (and especially speakers) do -- so there will be varying degrees of bass you can hear, but I would guess that "feeling" bass would be all in the mind (it is for me).

The UM1's would be smaller and more comfortable and would isolate as well as or better than the E2's. If you can accept less isolation than an IEM but still the in-ear fit of a canal phone, think about the Sennheisers or another fairly "fun," bassy canal phone.
