Didnt like that feel of the HD414 pads sitting entirely on my ears. Also, did not want to shell out $xx for the oversized bowls. Found large cup like pads from a wireless RCA headphone and thought...
  1. Sennhieser HD414 quater modded
  2. RCA WHP141 wireless headphones pads
  3. Circle black foam pad slightly larger than HD414's

All 3

Alot more comforable and sq is the same as HD414', but with less leak.

How much did you spend on the mod?

HD414 about $9 and the RCA pads were free (from a broken RCA wireless headset). I can try and find the part number.

Wow that looks comfy. How does it compare to bowls in terms of sound?

Never had bowls, so cant compare.

Ive tried radioshack pads and HD414's, both quarter modded.

The driver sits about 1/8 farther than with HD414. I feel the sound is further and more open, but relatively close to quarter modded 414s. The sound leak and comfort are the benefits.

I meant that I doubt they sound like the HD414 pads (sorry if I was confusing). I'm guessing this mod is going to sound similar to the Hybrid mod with the bowls + HD414 pads. HD414 pads (and flats apparently) have the really upfront bassy sound because the driver is close to the ear. The hybrid mod and I would guess this mod lose the up front sound and bass punch because the thicker earpads push the driver further away from the ear. That's how the hybrid pads worked for me and I'm just guessing this would sound the same.
