OK, I'm a total newb, but I like soldering -- and listening. I'm about to build my first Pimeta, and I'd like to socket the resistors so that I can experiment with gain (I'd like to hear the differences that the different resistors make).
I can't figure out tho how to do this. Do I solder the socket to the board? How so the resistors stay in the socket? Solder, friction?
Is there a relatively easy way to make my decisions permanent once I pick the gain that works best?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Also, Amp **** is frequently posted, but rarely are the back sides shown. I enjoy and learn from seeing how the various projects are assembled, but a view of the back showing soldering techniques would be useful too. If I can see how something is supposed to look, it saves lots of mistakes.
Thanks
