So...I've heard MANY ways to induce burn-ins over the years...what's YOUR personal method? I personally stick to really bassy music (not hard with my library)...I crank it up til a few db before clipping.... don't want to clip, but want to push the crap out of them. I recently have been expierementing with my HD485s...since I'm buying some K701s later tonight...I feel like their my expendable headphones :p. But yeah, I'm STILL seeing burn-in increasing even now, and I had about 800 hours on them prior to this and it's like they never even became burned-in.

Mainly, I'm just wonder what everyone's "personal" trick is to burning-in. AM/FM? Bass? White noise? etc.... Just curiosity :p.

Pink Noise tends to be the norm I think for burning in, but I just play the music I listen to frequently and leave it be. I mean, hey, if it's going to burn in, it might as well be adjusted to the stuff I listen to!

I have a cheap 5 dollar am/fm radio that is mono and the same signal is going through both channels and I change stations a few times during the burn in. I over 450 hours burning in on my Tomahawk. I won't have it done until 5th or 6th of July. It has gone through many changes. I change batteries on the radio about once a week and on the Tomahawk about every 200-250 hours.

It is mrarroyo's fault I'm burning in so long!LOL It had to be 800 hours. I hate rechargable batteries. I can just go to Costco and pick up a box for about 10 bucks. I don't like the use it or lose it tendencies on the rechargables. On some toy's they don't last as long or get as loud. When I get lithiums I know what I'm getting.

i like to do sweeps within the cans specified frequency range, sometimes just doing it in the low end, or with pink noise running. sometimes just pink noise. just whatever i set my mind too that night before sleeping. do it for a while till it bores me i suppose.

The Pink Noise track on the Bink Test CD should work for anyone. I don't really see the point in using anything other than pink noise for burn in. It's consistent. I burn in at just above normal listening levels (that's relative I guess). I personally don't like taking my brand new headphones to the point of clipping... or even my old ones for that matter.

I also believe in psychological burn in, which is just as prominent IMO as mechanical.
