It's short notice, but people would like to do a meet soon, so we're going for two weeks from now. Sunday Aug 24 from 1:00 until audio burnout at my place. Directions will be sent to anyone who lets me know that they're coming (e-mail rather than PM please. Use the link in my profile).

My equipment is visible in my profile. If you're coming, please let us know what you're bringing (It's not necessary to bring anything). If there's something you particularly want to hear, please let me know ASAP, and I'll see what I can do.

I hope to see you in a couple of weeks!

Went by Hirsch's place on Monday. Felt silly seeing that entire collection of his and only getting a Kimber mini-to-RCA from him. It's one thing to see these items listed on a profile, and it's quite another thing to see them all in person.

Shouldn't have listened to those R10s, Hirsch. Now I'm watching an auction on them on Y!J debating whether to bid.

I'll be bringing the AudioValve RKV Mk "III" and the EarMax Pro, as well as Beyer DT770's, both 250 ohm and 600 ohm. Perhaps we can have a DT770-off.

Grado SR-80/ senn pads
JMT META/opa 637
Fixup super mini v6.2C
Ety ER-4P with fixup cable

Hope to see everyone there!!

I may be out of town that weekend, don't know just yet. If I am not away, I will plan on being there. If I can make it to the meet, I will bring:

Koss Pro4AAT headphones (for blocking out the world)

Marantz 1060 integrated amplifier (my latest vintage amp acquisition)

Ampex reel to reel tape deck and an assortment of factory reel to reel tapes.

I have a good selection of Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Doors, Dead, Allman Bros, CCR, Tull, Led Zep, The Who, and Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. Probably won't have time to listen to more than a half dozen reels, but if anyone has any requests, I'll try and accommodate them. My reel collection consists mostly of rock music from the period of 1965 to 1975.

Regarding the TJ Brass, there must be something to these guys if some eBayers are willing to pay almost $300 for one of their CDs. I admit to having their greatest hits album on reel to reel.

Count me in, but with a warning.

If you spend much time listening to my SkyFi as a source, you'd better budget in $10 a month for XM satellite radio for the future.

If you can't swing $10 a month, I wouldn't come if I were you...

Hey, Hirsch

Do you mean Washington, DC? I have a brother living in that area.

I would love to attend that meeting!! It would be my very first meet and a chance to get acquainted with some of the guys who have guided my first steps into the headphone-listening world. And I would also have the opportunity to meet in loco some of the gear I have been heard raving about.

Unfortunately, the scheduled day coincides with my nephew's birthday, and I am going north (Massachussets) to spend the day with him and my sister (and my brother from DC).

Perhaps some other time...

Best regards and have a great MEET!

Yep, that's the place. Sorry you can't make it this time, but I'm sure we'll have another one in the near future.

Anyone needing directions who hasn't received them please contact me.

Hirsch,

I really, really wish I could make it, just to hear that stash of yours. Unbelievable! OTOH it would cost a lot of money, not for the plane ticket from California but all the purchases i would be making afterwards!

I am really curious to hear your feedback on the Gilmore since opinions have been divided and I value your's quite a bit.
