I haven't got enough gear to offer much opinion here... but I'm definately happy with darth's as video headphones, and 90% of my videos are anime. I've only got a few OST's though.

While i watch a ton of anime I'm hoping to have them mainly be for my music. Though everyone suggesting AT and AKG makes me curious. Especially when i can find minimal info about both. I see head to head comparisons for equal priced grado and senns but not really anything comparing low end akg's with anything. Though it seems like they are more for recording specialists??? Also semiopen is sorta weird for me. I was planning on getting open headphones for home use and my in ears for portable.

Daughter of 20 faces started out promising but really started to flat out suck. Not sure why you say this has been a weak season. Kurenai, Soul Eater, Macross Frontier, Code Geass R2, not to mention mid tier animes like Allison and Lillia, xxxHolic Kei, and Kyouran Kazoku Nikki are pretty enjoyable as well.

Yes i saw it and saw the 2005 and then dismissed it lol.

Also it was mostly talking about anime itself not anime music. I wanted to get some suggestions on what HP work best with Anime music.

Never would have thought that I would have had to ask such a thing until I listened to some of my music with grados and just said no... it doesn't work.

*sorry i edited some stuff right before i saw your post lol*

Now that I think about it. It IS after all a japanese phone company. If anyone would get jpop right they would. Too bad the 700s purple looks kinda ugly -_-'''. I'm assuming those would be the best to purchase around $100

*EDIT* After looking at them some more, I kinda enjoy the purple. Looks fresh and new.

I can't get enough of the anime O_O. Concert + battle + amazing animation = win for me. And ya.. the stuff Yoko Kanno is pumping out right now is even better than the Darker than Black stuff which I love. Great Jazz.

I'm not sure if I qualify posting here.

When I usually listen and watch Bleach/Naruto anime+ soundtracks, a little jpop and other anime stuff I use my MDR-SA5000's.

Rig is in sig.

The soundtracks for Naruto's first season is good (by Toshio Masuda). The ones for the current Shippuuden series is bleh.

Anime + audiophile just seems plain weird imo...

Why? It seems very natural to me since anime has some very amazing music, most of it better than the music you'd find on American television, which more or less only uses mainstream/pop/commercial music.

Anyway, I treat my anime music just like the rest of my music:
Portable: PK1/KSC75

I listen to... a lot. Can't really categorize it. In any case, just broke in some Beyer 440s, and they work nicely out of a laptop unamped. On the go with an mp3 player I generally stick to A-T's EM7s.
