Not sure why it isn't working, must be something with the Samsung software, since it works fine on my HTC One which has the same Qualcomm SoC.

Can sum1 confirm if any of the fiios work with the s4 quad core variant (i9095) or recommend one that does but under £70 if possible im soooo depressed the s4 sound is too weak! Esp compared to the htc one?! Thanks

There seems to be some conflicting reviews of the s4 audio quality (maybe the international krait dac vs samsung octa setup) i dunno

The s4 sound quality is mediocre, i dunno maybe its because of the higher frequency output on the HTC one + beats audio enabled just sounds really good, i used my monster turbines pro on both of them and the turbines just shine on the one where as on my s4 they sound like some shabby disposable headphones you get from the pound land..... so i have given up on using the s4 as my music player unless i can get a good DAC or amp but i have limited knowledge in this area and don't know where to begin?? or i may just buy a mp3 player but again i don't know where to begin. Please can a kind soul help me lol im so depressed...... i need that thick bass and clear audio on loud volume!

P.S. I used the same EQ settings on poweramp for both phones...and i dont know if i wanna trust gsm about the levels but i do know that i have had both ones (and now stuck with s4) and the HTC is a bloody beauty of an audio device!!!)

I'd buy a DAC/amp, rather than a standalone mp3 myself. You can use it with stuff like your laptop and other phones going forward.

Which ones work with the S4 will be confirmed over time as more here get their hands on them.

Generally you would have to get the cables separately, some like iBasso are including them.

So, when you go to buy the Android LOD cables, the option for the first end only allows USB micro-B, but this would only appear to be micro-B but act as micro-A correct? Then the second end I'd choose would be mini-B to connect to a FiiO E07K.

Did a re-build of my OTG + Charging cable tonight:

Updates from the previous version:
- The point where all the cables come together is now protected by a decent piece of housing instead of just some shrinktube
- The cable is sleeved with braided nylon sleeving
- The Micro B that acts as a Micro A is now the only connector that has a red marker on it
