Hello,
 
Has anyone had any experience trying this Lindy DAC/Amp? Tempted to buy and try it out, if worse comes to worse i can always send it back or use it for my PC instead

I have a Galaxy Note I (SGH-I717D) and a Leckerton UHA-6S.MKII.  I understand that the Note is not capable of sending USB-Audio under ICS.  I have read that Jelly Bean supports USB-Audio but there is some doubt as to whether the Note's version of Jelly Bean will support USB-Audio.  Does anyone here know for certain whether Jelly Bean on Note will support USB-Audio such that I will be able to use my UHA-6S.MKII's DAC directly, bypassing the Yamaha DAC that is on-board my Note?  I know that some parts of the world, and some ROM users are already running Jelly Bean on their Note(s); could anyone here verify whether USB-Audio is working or not?

The samsung s1, s2 and note 1 have a big problem with DAC support, the general consensus is the USB interface is blocked for DAC support although there could be another reason, the USB recorder pro developer mentions on the google play that s1,s2 and note 1 don't work and if he/she cant get in to work then I doubt it ever will.

I don't think it matters if it android 4.0 or jellybean, I think its probably a hardware issue otherwise someone compiling up a kernel/modules over on XDA would have cracked it by now, google seem to be letting android device manufacturers add in USB DAC support which what samsung did for the s3 and note 2 and probably the s4 will have USB DAC support, it really seems like a hardware issue more than a software one although it can vary between different devices.

At the announcement of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in June 2012, Google introduced a new type of USB DAC operating as USB host, that can’t interwork with PC or Mac also operating as USB host.

No Jelly Bean-announced USB DAC is available for the time being.
 
Probably like the Galaxy S2, the Galaxy Note doesn’t have a complete USB host feature, so that a USB audio driver, or a USB audio soft driver like USB Audio Recorder PRO can’t use the necessary USB service to drive a USB DAC.

You can test your USB OTG cable with a simpler USB peripheral like a USB mouse.
 
If the Xperia Z still can’t work with the ESI DR. DAC nano, you could test it with the USB Audio Recorder PRO, available on Google Play Store?
There is a trial version.

I think you / we should encourage the USB Audio Recorder PRO development team and other music player development teams to embrace the USB audio service framework:
. develop the USB audio service at the user space level

The usb otg cable works with my pc keyboard pluged in and a micro sd adaptator so i think it's a good one but when i check your link i think it's a micro B usb not a micro A, is it a bad thing  ? http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0077QLMHA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Your cable is OK because it can connect a USB OTG capable Xperia Z acting as a USB host (i.e. a A-device) to a USB keyboard or a USB adaptor for micro SD card always acting as USB peripheral (i.e. B-device).
 
The description of the cable is faulty because a B-device can’t interwork with another B-device.
USB is a master-slave communication bus: USB communication can only take place between a master device (i.e. a A-device) and a slave device (i.e. B-device).

You may try inserting a small AC or battery powered USB hub between the Xperia Z and the DAC.
In this case, the Xperia Z doesn’t have to supply power to the DAC.

i will check this interesting thread, i think hrt should think to build a new product, microsteamer with its own battery .
I bought a knew otg cable micro A to mini B, from lindy.i WIll try and if doesn't work i will send the dr dac nano back.

As far as we can tell, while we can draw a schematic for our desired micro-A-OTG to standard B (male to male), we haven't found them yet on this third rock from the sun. "

are you on stock have updated to the latest jelly bean ? since if I remember correctly the USB audio out is a new feature , and you have to be jellybean to do it , and Cynanogen removed that feature in their roms
 
also Fiio E17 works with USB audio recorder pro (not plug and play )

Stock 4.2.2. Yeah, I know that I need USB audio recorder pro. They killed USB otg on Nexus 4, but if mentioned combo is working, it's enough for me. Because, I'll be using e17 with my MBA also.
