Meizu MX (M032) on Flyme 2.1.2 still does not provide USB audio using the http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g338/BBEG/photobucket-30582-1354849882927.jpg[/IMG]]previous hardware. Videos clearly show the E17 capable of SPDIF input (coax and optical), so I doubt it is the culprit. The most likely problem is the MX's inability to power a USB device. I am not sure how to rectify this, or if I can; this may be something Meizu has to fix in a firmware update.

I still need to get a confirmed working USB OTG cable and access to a different DAC.

Received the PCstep from Jan Meier earlier and happy to confirm it works with the samsung s3 international version (stock jellybean 4.1.2) including the mixer controls in both poweramp and neutron. edit with or without a battery.

@ DanBa: Neat looking device!! I'm guessing it's a rebadged Go-DAP X with a pretty hefty price increase. I like the interlocking case though. (Btw, Musica Acoustics has an open-box of the red model for $295 atm if anybody's interested -- link).

@ Fuzzy1969: Awesome, man!! That means it's highly likely it will work with my US version S3. Any comment on the sound? (Mine will probably take a bit longer to arrive... damn oceans
size]

According to AnakChan who has some contact with the VentureCraft people, "there are internal differences.
A mentionable one is the V-Moda Vamp Verza headphone output is almost double of the VentureCraft Go-DAP X".

thank you for your answers even if they have cooled me, if I read the posts of Danba, he said, although it can be done elsewhere I quote his message.

A list of stock Android-powered devices reportedly interworking with standard USB DAC:

stock Android device > digital USB audio out >> standard USB DAC >> amp >> headphones

. Motorola Razr Maxx HD using USB Audio Recorder PRO (smartphone):

. Samsung Galaxy S III (smartphone):

Or I did not understand the interest he Danba enumerate each page of the list of mobiles that can incorporate a dac?

But maybe he could tell me and confirm.
For all my thinking rests on it and if I'm wrong, I just goodbye ...
But in case I have a backup on my brother SG3 he could trade me, but before I want to be on.

Hi Piratair,

Firstly Im not sure the Razr can handle a DAC, the s3 can because samsung put in some extra work to make it USB/DAC compliant, it is not a standard feature of googles android at the present, also I have a E17 and it is a problematic USB/DAC even with a samsung s3 (It doesn't work unless you use USB recorder pro).

In fact I realized that it was thanks to the OTG cable that I could not use my Motorola dac and connect the Apex Glacier behind.
Why do you say that I could not do it? Can if the SG3, I should be able to do after Danba?
And if I have to buy this piece of software what ARP, no worries for € 5 ....

Thank Theogene for these incentives.

But to be honest I expect Danba confirm your writings, and he explained to me what, I can expect and what I can do with my mobile :)

According to the "USB Audio Recorder PRO website", the Motorola Razr Maxx HD using USB Audio Recorder PRO can interwork with some USB DAC.
http://www.extreamsd.com/USBAudioRecorderPRO/

I think it's plausible, because I read that the USB host feature is enabled on the Motorola Razr Maxx HD.

I don't include the LG Optimus G on "my" compatibility list, because I don't read that the USB host feature is enabled on the LG Optimus G.

With the USB Audio Recorder PRO solution, there is no more need to implore Android device manufacturers or Google to enable USB audio on their USB host-capable Android devices.

For now, this is what I can say as it's out in the public specs :-

..............
I had the same reasoning...........
I think the current USB enumeration software should be improved.
The Samsung-implemented USB enumeration is perfectible.
It is not enough tolerant than the one implemented in the USB Audio Recorder PRO app.

The USB Audio Recorder PRO app uses a functional Android USB host driver.

The USB host feature is not enabled on LG / Google Nexus 4; a Nexus 4 using USB Audio Recorder PRO can’t work with USB DAC.

The incomplete USB host function of the Samsung Galaxy S2 can’t transfer isochronous USB data to USB DAC; the Galaxy S2 using USB Audio Recorder PRO can’t work with USB DAC.

Very informative.
It seems that at this moment what we android audiophiles can do are:

1. Beg Google to improve android's sound driver for next releases.
Can you propose a vote on Google's "to be improve" list?

2. Buy USB DACs with old school chipsets like PCM-270X.

3. Buy USB Audio Recorder PRO app, use it with complete USB host mode.
But how can we make sure our android devices are capable of complete USB hosting?

4. Beg USB DAC manufacturers to provide a compatible driver, which is most unlikely.

Just wonder if there is an upgrade path with Galaxy S4 being released TODAY.

Sorry noticed the S3 thing is just a metal casing attachment, unlike the VAMP which was custom made for IP4.

DanBa or anyone used the VAMP VERZA or the VAMP before and can comment on it?

Just wanted to issue a quick correction: it looks as though I was mistaken when I called the VERZA a "rebadged Go-DAP X." It appears to be a significant upgrade, at least based on what we're hearing in the dedicated VERZA thread. My apologies for any confusion.

Additional confirmation of FiiO E07K working with Android (4.2.2 AOKP / Dirty RootBox - CM10.1 base)

Nexus 7 w/ Trinity kernel -> USB OTG -> FiiO E07K -> V-Moda Crossfade M-100

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3I1bsNqsLJbTHA2dlc1Vlp3YWs/edit?usp=sharing

I flashed the USB Audio mod from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029728 -- and the E07K is now working plug-n-play as well, which is awesome!

No more progress getting it working with my One XL, though. Same deal with the E07K as with the G930 headset -- it seems to be detected by the USB host but audio continues to play out of the speakers. I even reflashed my ROM with the device connected.

I tried a colleague's Galaxy Note 2, also running a CM 10.1 base (JellyBam) and the E07K doesn't work with that either, despite the Note 2 (stock ROM) having been confirmed working. This makes me more hopeful that USB audio support will come with a future version of CM.
