That's strange; Samsung wrote their kernel to play nice with their factory grown ROM to pass all 'musical' audio through to a DAC when plugged in. If it only plays in USB Audio Recorder Pro then that means there is a driver conflict as USB Audio Recorder Pro has its own drivers that override all of Android's.

Personal side-note: I think that the guy who did USB Audio Recorder Pro should write a program that was specifically a music player that used the same drivers. That way even devices that have poor or no USB audio implementation should be able to use their DAC's.

Cool! The Xperia Z is working, mine should arrive next week (Monday all things going well). Will test with Apex/Intruder/Leckerton/Pico. I have an HTC One coming a couple of weeks after that also and will of course test USB audio there too (I expect it will work without needing the USB Audio Recorder app, since it does in the HTC Butterfly).

I got up a practical devices xm6 from ebay yesterday. Its works with the samsung s3 international version via the OTG cable jellybean 4.1.2. poweramp and neutron (only 2 playesr I have at the moment) the mixers work and poweramp also supports the forward/play/reverse jog wheel on the back.

Happy to help, I think the DAC stage is being powered by the phone Im not sure how this will impact battery life on the s3 but will report back when I have more time.

Im guessing that was true for maybe stock ICS 4.04 I never tried it with 4.04 as I automatically updated it to 4.1 as soon as I got it. I traded it in today for the GNOTE 2 for Verizon and it does the same thing. Neutron wont work and it only outputs sound through USB Audio Recorder pro.

Have you tried Poweramp with the Note?

My asus slider, which shares the same kernel of asus TF101,
works great with USB Audio Pro.
BTW, are they going to make the user interface for the app?

UI like poweramp's will be perfect

According to the dev its not in the plans. I really think he should as he has a good thing going.

Also thanks to DanBa for that list!! I have a U3 and had once tried it with the Toshiba Thrive, but had no knowledge of that USB Audio Recorder app... It's also running ICS since they fingally released it and so I'll have to give things another go! Kinda funny that I had suggested this (for PnP sound card, DACs like the Xonar U3) on a forum for modding Samsung HDTVs since it will play music from a USB-connected hard drive or thumbdrive, and the dev said no because it wouldn't have any interest :rolleyes:

Oh well lol I since had bought a Xonar Xense and the computer it's in is already hooked up to said HDTV

The Thrive has a dev that is somewhat interested in making it route correctly through a 4.1.2 custom ROM. So far all we have is USB Audio Recorder Pro working... But if you try this (flash B25) and let him know what happens with your equipment it would help a lot. Since your are on ICS though it would be difficult to get it so you can flash. If you are interested let me know and I think one of the members on the Thrive Forums figured out how to root ICS.

Hi everybody,

just a quick FYI: my Sony Xperia V (stock rom, android 4.1.2) and Fiio E17 is working out-of-the-box with a USB OTG cable. I turn off the charge via USB option on the E17.
