I emailed Kingwa the owner of Audio-gd. He asks for our support in reporting which Audio-gd DACs work with USB OTG. At this moment we have one report, that the Audio-gd
NFB-16 (USB DAC/amp) works with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Here is the full range of products http://www.audio-gd.com/Products-EN.htm and they are of course well regarded here at head-fi. 
 
He can get a cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Micro-b-male-to-Mini-b-male-data-cable-lead-adaptor-/261135697830 and test his DACs. Many of them are designed with the same "USB32" chip. Danba or anyone who speaks Chinese may want to email him directly. Their contact form lists their email address http://www.audio-gd.com/Contact-EN.htm Of course they can handle English but its faster and more accurate to use Mandarin.

Thanks for pointing me to that link. I had a feeling the analog volume control in the Dragonfly would not work, since it is controlled by the system volume in windows. I may try it anyways with my Predator and see if I like the DAC portion. I can also check out the amp on my computer.

USB audio recorder pro works fine after the update today - also for 96/24 files! (Nexus 7, Fiio E17).  Now we just need to convince him to create a simple interface for using it as music player..

This is pretty exciting news about the "USB audio recorder". I ordered up a USB OTG cable for my Nexus 7 so I can get this set up. 
 
From what i understand, we need some kind of music player app w/EQ to make this whole. It would be great to see this play nice with Neutron

USB is an asymmetric protocol in that one participant acts as a USB host (i.e. A-device) and the other as a USB peripheral (i.e. B-device).
The standard USB DAC is always a USB peripheral, the smartphone / tablet has to act as a USB host.
 
 
The Galaxy S3, for instance, is a USB On-The-Go device. A USB OTG device can act as a USB host or as a USB peripheral.
 
Simply put, a USB OTG device like a Galaxy S3 can act acts as
. a USB peripheral when a Micro-B plug is inserted in the Micro-AB receptacle of the Galaxy S3 [regular cable]
. a USB host when a Micro-A plug is inserted in the Micro-AB receptacle of the Galaxy S3 [so-called "OTG cable"]

After reading some more, I decided to try the DACport instead of the Dragonfly. I will see how a new improved DAC further improves the sound while using this new app.

I got a Note 2 I317M and the paid version of this app will not detect the FiiO e07k but others have it working.  I have the Behringer UCA202 and it works but this app still does not recognize it. 
 
USB Audio Tester/Recorder detects it but can't do anything with it.
 
I am making sure I have the app closed before I connect all devices and then open the app.
 
Playing around some more with my other devices, my Tab 2 7 P3113 works with this app and the E07k!  Great.  My T989D Galaxy S2X also detects the E07k but will not play.  Note 2, nada and that's both ATT and Roger's versions.

BTW what amp are you using? If you are gonna be using a separate amp get the DACport LX and not the DACport.

I am using a Predator amp and I have tried others but keep coming back to the Predator. I also read in a few places that the LX was a little bit better sounding than the DACport with the Amp, but it is true that it would simplify my system to have a single DAC/amp. If I really like the LX, maybe I will try the DACport sometime and consider simplifying. A while back when I was using a computer as my source, I had a Pico and a Predator and kept trying to decide which one I liked better. Finally, I came to the conclusion that I liked the DAC in the Pico and the amp in the Predator, so I kept them both. Then I went to using a Hifiman 801 so no longer needed the Pico, but still fed the signal through my Predator. Now I am using my Nexus 10, so this may be similar in that I am back to having separate source, DAC and amp.
 
I may someday also try the new HifiM8 for a simpler setup, but as far as I can tell from their website, the DAC in that will require special drivers which may mean it will not work with the USB app for Android.
 
I use my system as a movable and completely battery powered system, but I do not try for completely portable as I do not travel much, so I do not mind the extra cables and pieces of equipment. I like to strap it all down on a padded laptop desk so that I can easily pick it up and take it outside or into another room. And when I do travel, I will just take the Nexus and my REO iems. Works for me.

Okay, read this thread with a LOT of excitement last night, and went ahead and bought the app (to thank the developer for his work) and decided to wait until this morning to try it... and it flippin' WORKS!!! Below is my setup: 
 
Verizon Galaxy S3 (running aokp_d2vzw_jb_build-4) > iBasso D6 > HD25-II 
 
Confirmed file playback (so far): 16/44, 24/96
 
When I first plugged it in, there was sound playing that was obviously some deranged form of the song I was trying to play ("Bleak" by Opeth), so I increased the buffer to the highest setting (16384 frames), and boom-- we're in business!!!!!!
 
I can also confirm that while both 16/44 and 24/96 will play in the background, they will stutter and pause occasionally when other apps are initiated, etc. Also, when selecting the app again to bring it from the background to being the open application, file playback stops. 
 
It appears that the major hurdle has been overcome in utilizing USB DACs with our Android devices, and I for one am absolutely STOKED!!!! There are still a lot of things to be worked out (improvements to the file player itself being foremost among them IMO), but I can't thank Davy (for birthing this digital awesomeness into the world) and DanBa (for announcing its existence and constantly championing the cause) enough!!!!! You guys are officially my co-favorite people of the day!!
