Could you provide a dmesg log output in order to know what is going on at the kernel level between the S3 and the hiFace Two?

dmesg:
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=dmesg

1.                                 0x80    bmAttributes   (Bus-powered Device)
2.                                 0xFA    MaxPower   (500 mA)
http://pastebin.com/aGiKSQPc

The hiFace Two requires 500 mA.
According to the USB spec, the S3 can only provide 100 mA.
So there is a need to connect the hiFace Two to a S3 via a (battery) powered USB hub, which provides the required 500 mA.

The USB Audio Driver for ALSA of the S3 is able to drive USB Audio Class 2 (UAC2) devices like the hiFace Two.

I also tried with an y usb cable powered by a belkin usb charger, and no success.
I have seen (in the neutron player or winamp) that the time counter is very speed, five time or more than normal speed when I try to reproduce a song.
what is the exact name of dmesg apps, I see -live dsmeg lite- of chainfire is this?
Thanks

Thanks.

So far, like the quad-core Exynos powered Galaxy S3, the quad-core Exynos powered Galaxy Note 2 can work with the iBasso D12 and the ODAC, and has some issue with the HeadAmp Pico.

So, in regard to standard USB audio, the behaviour of the Galaxy Note 2 is likely identical to the behaviour of the Galaxy S3.

so what's the closest thing to the E17 for use with a galaxy s3 AND a pc at the moment? There's a huge list of compatibles which im grateful of but i dont know which are any good :D Needs to be similar form factor to the E17 with battery, both amp and dac in one :)

Add the Nuforce Icon Mobile to the list of DAC's that work with the S3
+ the Icon Mobile has a built in battery and amp,
+ is really small
- The amp is useless and sounds only slightly better than the HPO on the S3.

I'm thinking Leckerton's UHA-6S MkII is the closest bet. I'm really hoping the talented Android devs came whip up something by December when my contractends. I was considering the Nexus or SIII, but at this point I might yet end up with a Chinese phone.

I would also say the Leckerton is probably the closest. I'm just waiting for confirmationit wworks on International S3s before I pull the trigger on one to use with my Note 2.

Topping D1 Mark 2 (USB DAC/amp) vs FiiO E17 vs Audinst HUD-Mini soon:
http://www.facebook.com/headfonia
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28673076&postcount=871

"I think we have a new contender for the $100 USB Dac/Amp!"

"Anyway a short comparison to the E10 reveals that the D1 Mk2 is: more spacious by quite a margin. So spacious that I think the Fiio E17 probably will lose on that department as well. The soundstage image is also superior than the E10. Less boomy bass than the E10, but still smooth analog sound with good bass body. Slightly more high treble presence on the Mk2. The biggest surprise is that I was able to use it both with IEMs like the Vsonic Gr07 Mk2 AND big orthos like the Hifiman HE-400!!!! And it drove the Hifiman HE-400 surprisingly well! WOOOHOOOO I'm excited."

"I don't think the D1 is quite HUD-MX1 level (DAC quality) but to the HUD-Mini it should be comparable. Amplifier section, the D1 is more powerful than either Audinsts though."

"I am getting a unit for a review. I can tell you I like the Topping a lot, but I won't say more until I have all three E17, D1 Mk2 and HUD-Mini for comparison."

"We'll review it soon"

Hmm i had already eyed up the leckerton but its also a huge amount more money, and prices seem fixed as AFAIK you can only buy direct from him? :frowning2:

Hi guys, i have a nexus 7 and using custom 'Trinity' Kernel. I updated my asound.conf file and ive gotten an Ibasso D2 Boa. I tried booting the 7 with the Boa plugged in but i get a flickering 'link' light and no sound via the Boa.. could it be a cable issue? im using a OTG USB cable that i know works with usb memory sticks.. and im using the micro usb cable that came with my sansa clip.. could it be the cable? cheers, mick

im pretty sure the sansa clip cable is a USB 'B' cable... could that be the issue?
