I have a dragonfly black. I can't seem to find an android equalizer that works with it. I've tried Equalizer FX, 10 band eq and some other but none have any effect on the dragonfly. Which is a shame since I'd love to eq my headphones through my phone.

Hello i use usb audio player to play qobuz on android and feed fiio k5 plus akg k702
I use built in eq to have more laid back sound.
It is classic eq, non linear.
I wonder if it is worth buying the plugin from tonebooster, if it would have better phase control...?

Wavelet allows for personalized EQ settings, even though the process to add those is a little bit involved. I suggest you give a strong look at it. It's free, it works great, what more could you ask?

What is the software most reviewers use for eq on windows?
I think Foobar2000 is also used a lot (I am not familiar with any yet).

I don't think Foobar2000 offers a parametric equalizer without extra software installed.

Here is my personal experience with EQs. Most implementations are pure trash imo, even on DAPs, when EQing bass/lows. The best one I have found is an Android app DSP manager from Cyanogen mod on a rooted Galaxy Nexus i9250 and Qudelix 5K being a close second. This phone is no audiophile device, the 3.5mm output is not clean, it has noise/hiss, not a black background. But with this EQ and Bass boost feature I have gotten the BEST, cleanest, deepest low end out of all music devices that I tried. You can get good results on PC with some proper EQ programs and Foobar2000 and such, but I do not listen on PC that much.

For reference I have had: Shanling M2s, Shanling UP, Shanling Sonata HD Dragonfly Red, Hiby R3, Hiby R3 Pro, Hiby R2. The DAPs were nice, good features, clean background with good sound but their EQs are bad for low end.

I guess if you are altering mids and highs any EQ will be fine, but for low end you need a properly implemented EQ. Viper4Android is another great app. I have not tried UAPP which can also be pretty good. Try Hiby Music app as it works really well on Android.
