Hey Guys,
Recently I went on vacation with my family to Maui. I really enjoyed the week I was there. The temperature and humidity drove me NUTS though. I like cold and rainy weather. Yeah, it was not that. The island is nice and calm, and the SIGHTS!!! The water was very clear and the trees were so green. While there, I made it my mission to practice my anaglyph making skills. So armed with my Canon Powershot A630 and my two eyes, I searched for the best place to make them. I was so busy and everything was so beach oriented for the majority of the trip, I could not find a good place. Finally, on the last day, I persuaded everyone to go to Iao Valley State Park which is in a deep valley in the middle of the western part of the island. I cannot put into words how gorgeous this location is. I really enjoyed taking photos and breathing in the cooler air.
I learned that to take anaglyphs, you take two almost identical photos, about two inches apart. This is to simulate what your eyes see. The trick is to get a full shot with plenty going on but with NO MOVEMENT. It was occasionally windy, and I spaced a few sets too far apart to be of any use together, but here are the ones I like.
I scaled them down to 1600x1200 to fit in Imageshack's limit. The second one just blows me away every time I see it...
