I was thinking of buying a headphone in the price range of Rs.5000 ($100) and I shortlisted the HD429 and HD439 and now I'd like to know which one is better in terms of bass and volume (how much volume you can get when connected to a portable player). So anybody have an opinion?

Hi, I have have the HD439. Bass is very good, present only when it needs to be.
 
On my PSP Go, I need to get to 80% volume before I go deaf.
 
On my Momo12 tablet, around 40% to 50%

hd 439's drivers vibrate with amp when there is a high amount of bass. keep that in mind.

at least try it before buying.
