Hello everyone,

I received a pair of JVC DX1000 3 days ago, and I already own a mD5000 which I drive with a Gilmore Lite.

I actually search a new amp particulary good with the JVC, but an amp which also is able to drive my Denon better than the Headamp.

I thought to:

1 - Trafomatic Experience Head One

2 - Decware CSP2

3 - Zana deux

4 - The Goldpoint Headphone Pro

I need for sage advices, please help me!
Thanks

I liked them out of my Dynalo and especially the Beta22.

I wouldn't go with tubes for either of those, for different reasons.

Will let you know how they perform on the goldpoint. Just got a message my DX 1000 are shipping.

But what do you want from your amp... Something that adds even more romance or something that straighten them up some so they get a bit more serious?

Thanks FallenAngel.

You know that you're making mess in my poor head...but i'm interested!

I could read here some threads where tubes were acclaimed for the JVC, and I searched a warmer song than the Gilmore Lite can offer, so I moved apart other solutions.
But finally, a contrary opinion is perhaps what I need to make a choice.

I'm beginning in the domain, too scared to think to DIY. Certainly a fault, but I'm not enaugh comfortable with english language to feel able to do this kind of thing. But I can imagine me thinking to RPX33, or something like that.

However, I would like to know the mysterious reasons that push you to give me the advice of not making the choice of tube.
Can you develop your thought please?

Oqvist, are you happy of the combo Goldpoint - D5000?
First, my new amp was expected for the JVC only, but I'm afraid that the comparison with the too cold combo Gilmore-D5000 make me put aside the Denon, which I really like, that's why I search now an amp for the two cans.

I search impact, precision and clarity from my futur amp, but something warmer than the gilmore, which can be good with the two pairs.
I would be happy to know how your JVC will sound with the goldpoint.

Thanks for your help.

I have never heard the Denons on the Goldpoint but I do remember they being in serious need of a straight jackets. I don´t own them anymore and since I don´t enjoyed them I am the wrong guy to ask about amp matching for those anyway I suppose.

You say "I search impact, precision and clarity" AND warmness. Generally you sacrifice a bit in the previous areas to get the extra warmness. I generally don´t need it but when I do I have noticed running headphones unamped give you nice extra warmth. May feel ridiculous with such headphones but give it a try if you haven´t already.

Goldpoint headphone Pro will probably not adding much warmth they are pretty neutral perhaps a tad bright on my Keces but not at expense of bass or anything. They do however take control of the bass much better then any of my previous amps do and I am running V3 not V5 that runs on 2.5A and are supposed to be even higher resolution.
Better definition overall but particularly in bass.

My Slee Solo for example is surely warmer but at the expense of whats mentioned above perhaps. Please by mine

Can be upgraded to the SRG II I think?. Will try that with the DX 1000 to of course. It´s in my country now so will hopefully have it next week. But then it will take some time getting reused to them of course.

I did run the DX 1000 mostly on a Heed Canamp. That surely has a lot of warmth and plenty of power. Definiatly coloured though.
