Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones

Actually, it's kinda pity because you truly can get magnificent results out of old but tried and tested amps at a fraction of the price and footprint of the beasts that are mentionned here.
I'm not saying, and never will, it can replace toe for toe a Viva Egoista, but for people like me living in medium-sized apartments, having decent but not over-the-top income and willing to listen to my HE-6 almost everywhere inside, that's a must.

Besides, I honestly like more the couple Hiby R8/Alo rx Mk3b+ then an Audio-GD Master 11. No sense of loss anywhere.

Kudos for actually trying them out. Not too many people play the portables game with the HE-6 anymore.
Very few, if any, can drive the HE6 well.

I had the opprtunity to test the Earmen Angel (up to 2W @32ohms) and unfortunately, it doesn't have the muscles to handle the HE-6.
Dynamic is tamed and bass is a bit too shy. Besides, the signature is kinda unforgiving (highs are borderline fatiguing), and it doesn't suit the Hifiman well.

So I'll stick to my Alo rxMk3b+ and RSA SR-71b. With a preference to the Alo for being smoother and harder on slams at the same time. Besides it has more room for pushing the volume.
I had seen a few posts mentioning the RSA SR-71x working with the HE6SE and happen to run across a NIB SR-71Aa to try with my phones. I am in the process of moving and everything is packed away and I am unable to check how it fares with the phones. In fact, I bought a Whammy Amp also with the same situation, I can't test it either. This hopefully the packing, moving, and driving lasts only about 3 more weeks. I hope these turn out well, now I need to figure out how to make them more comfortable, I heard the Auzeze headband works wonders...The sound from these is too good to just let go, but man I wish they were bit lighter/comfortable.

Thanks for that, I went to the Amazon French website and had a difficult time getting back to the US one due to my limited French language capabilities (lol.) I'll try the super soft one you recommended... I appreciate that very much.
Cheers

Yes, go for it. Risk is near 0. It's cheap, so you won't lose much at worst. Besides, I don't know of your family situation, bon you may end up using it for kids too.
Only drawback: let's face it, you're not getting your look any better wearing those.

Anyone tried to run the HE6SE with a SMSL A300?
